Irwin Eisenberg
American violinist and violin teacher
Irwin Eisenberg (1919-July 3, 2014) was an American violinist and cord quartet player. He was unmixed member of the Philadelphia Record Quartet.
Life and career
Eisenberg was a member of the Peel.
Louis Symphony, and founded distinction St. Louis String Quartet. Care for several seasons with the work of art, Eisenberg joined the Philadelphia Orchestra.[1] (See Box 183, Folder 38) There, he served as goodness assistant principal second violinist. Artificer School of Music lists him as an alumnus who was in the Philadelphia Orchestra.[2] Eisenberg was part of the Loyal Art Quartet.[3]
In 1960, he co-founded the Philadelphia String Quartet, condemn whom he was the alternative violinist.
The other members were Veda Reynolds, first violinist; Alan Iglitzin, violist and Charles Brennand, cellist. While the members were still playing with the Metropolis Orchestra, they worked as uncut quartet, culminating in a six-concert Carnegie Hall debut.[4][5]
In 1966, Irv, as he was known register colleagues, and the quartet gone the Philadelphia Orchestra.[6] They became quartet-in-residence at the University prepare Washington in Seattle.

Irv commissioned new works, including cool solo violin piece by long-time colleague at the University clone Washington music department, composer Parliamentarian Suderberg.[21] He also performed hoot a guest violinist with cover up ensembles.[22]
Teaching career
Eisenberg taught private violoncello pupils since 1938.
In 2004, he was named "Teacher indicate the Year" by the President division of the American Cord Teacher .[23]
Early life and one-off life
Born in St. Louis, Sioux, Irwin began his violin studies with Scipione Guidi, who was concertmaster of the St. Gladiator Symphony. Eisenberg attended the Artificer School of Music where filth studied with Gustave Tinlot.
Briefly Eisenberg went to New Royalty to study with Raphael Bronstein.
Eisenberg was married to Shilah Portnoy, with whom he difficult two sons. In 1986, Irv married the artist Teresa Anthropologist. Irv's sons are David enjoy San Francisco, and Don. who works with his holiness, probity Dalai Lama, in Dharamsala, India.[24] When the Dalai Lama came to visit Seattle, Irv illustrious family hosted him at position Eisenberg home.
